Dark Waters
Lakes, rivers, and the things under them.
Short episodes about water: haunted lakes, drowned towns, abandoned water parks, and the legends that rush in to fill a place once people stop swimming there. Some of it is folklore. Some of it is negligence with a ghost story attached.

Week 3
Pyramid Lake
Washoe County, Nevada
A desert lake fifteen miles long on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation northeast of Reno, ringed with tufa towers. The Paiute tell of the Stone Mother, whose tears of grief filled the basin before she turned to stone on its shore, and of the water babies, spirits that cry like infants to lure people in. Fishermen and campers add their own: a silence so total it hums, a truck lid slammed with no footprints around it, a sheriff who watched a red glowing object rise out of the water. The episode treats the Paiute stories as theirs, and the Reddit stories as Reddit's.
The lake that cries like a baby.
